How is technology effecting your relationship with Jesus Christ?
Come and find out!

iChristian Week 1: CONNECTED...Everything about our media and technology age shows that we crave to be connected. We are connected in more ways today than ever before, but are we connected in the ways that matter most?

iChristian Week 2: MULTI-TASKING...We can be texting, IM'ing, facebooking, doing homework, and listening to music all at the same time. What does our microwave, push of a button, immediate results orientated world do when God says to wait patiently before Him in prayer? Prayer can yield anything but immediate results.....will you still find the quiet time necessary to talk to God in our noise filled world?

Upcoming!

*Serving Elegance With Excellence*
February 13th 6:30 to 8:00 PM
A special dress up V-Day dinner invitation for High School girls. Also serves as an outreach opportunity as we get to know others who have yet to meet the warm and welcoming 1st Baptist church family. We'll show God's love this V-Day! Men needed to serve food. Men and women needed in meal preparation.

*Spring Break Trip*
Cedar Rapids to Help with Flood Clean Up
Leave church parking lot, Sunday March 15th, 6pm.
Work full day Monday.
Work until around 3pm Tuesday.
Arrive back at church parking lot between 5 and 5:15pm on Tuesday, March 17th.
If you want to go, all you should do at this point is write back, that I should mark you down.
Only go if you're willing to work. I want to be clear on this.
Expect to pay no more than $40 max if you're a part of the regular youth ministry (and that is the high end). That cost would include meals and sleeping accommodations. I may need one or two adult helpers depending upon group size to work these dates as well. Contact me if interested.

*Summer Trip*
Green Lake Conference Center, QUEST
June 28-July 3
If you want to go, all you should do at this point is write back, that I should mark you down. DO NOT CALL THEM, OR REGISTER ONLINE!
I registered our group this morning, and paid the deposit/pre-registration fee necessary to get the one free adult registration. The camp will handle our arrangements through me at this stage. At 6 - 8 weeks out from the trip they will send us some skill forms to fill out to find out what sort of service work we'll be doing, painting, brush clean up, nursing home, were the kinds of things given to me over the phone. It is at that time that they'll get from me specific names of individuals, t-shirt sizes, etc. Right now, please tell me if you're in, and I'll mark that down. Keep your money in your pockets for now. I'll adjust my numbers and communication with them when we exceed 10 participants.

-Cost is $310 normally. Scholarships are available for youth and leaders, and it is highly encouraged that you check them out. www.quest.glcc.org or call 920.294.3323 ext 7365
I did some checking about church youth ministry paritial payment possibilities. I must correct myself because I mispoke on Sunday evening. If the student is a normal/regular attender, the church will pay 1/2. (aka $310 / 2 = $155 is the price for you) If family has three children going, 1/2 off two children, and the 3rd child is free. The correction is if student is not a normal a part of our group, they will not qualify for our church helping to sponsor them. I will need adults for this week as well to come along. Contact me if interested.
